Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about qrvibes.com at a glance.

General

What is qrvibes.com?

With qrvibes.com you scan QR codes and barcodes with your camera or from an image, and create your own codes for links, text, Wi-Fi, business cards, bank transfers and much more. There is also a bulk generator, print-ready templates and RSVP forms for invitations.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Scanning, creating, bulk QR and templates are free, with no watermark and no expiry date. Accounts and dynamic codes are free too.

Do I need an account?

No. You only need an account to save codes and edit them later, for dynamic codes and for RSVP forms. We only ask for a name (a nickname is fine) and an email address.

Which languages is qrvibes.com available in?

In 20 languages, including English, German, Spanish, French, Arabic, Chinese and Japanese. Pick your language with the flag in the language menu; every language has its own address, such as de.qrvibes.com.

Creating codes

What can I put in a QR code?

A link, text, Wi-Fi access, business card (vCard), email, phone number, SMS, WhatsApp, calendar event, location, social media profile, bank transfer (EPC/GiroCode) or crypto payment (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin). You only fill in the fields for the type you choose; qrvibes.com does the rest.

Can I create barcodes as well?

Yes. Choose “Barcode” when creating and then the type: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC, Code 128, Code 39, ITF-14 or Codabar. For EAN, UPC and ITF-14 the check digit is added automatically.

Can I use colours and a logo – and will the code still scan?

You can choose the colour, background (including transparent), dot shape, corners, a frame with text such as “SCAN ME” and a logo in the middle. Every preview is automatically read back; if that fails, you see a warning. Still, test the code with several phones before printing, especially with low contrast, a large logo or a small print size. With a logo, a higher error correction level (Q or H) helps.

Which formats can I download, and may I use the codes commercially?

PNG, SVG or PDF; SVG and PDF can be printed at any size without losing quality. The codes are yours: you may use them without restriction, including commercially.

Dynamic codes, EPC payment codes and bulk QR

What is a dynamic QR code?

A dynamic code does not contain your destination itself but a short address such as qrvib.es/AbC23xyz that redirects to your web address. You can change the destination at any time under “My codes” without reprinting the code. You need a free account for this. Important: the code only works as long as it is saved in your account. Once deleted, printed copies show a notice that the code is no longer active.

Can I see how often my code was scanned?

For dynamic codes, yes: under “My codes” you open the statistics with scans per day, week or month, the share of mobile devices and a breakdown by weekday, for 7, 30 or 90 days, 12 months or all time. You can download the figures as a CSV file. We only count the number of scans per day, without IP addresses and without cookies; link previews from chat apps and search engines are not counted. Static codes cannot have statistics because the scan does not pass through our server.

What is an EPC payment code (GiroCode)?

An EPC QR code, also called GiroCode, contains a SEPA bank transfer in euros: recipient, IBAN, amount and reference. Most European banking apps read it and fill in the transfer automatically. Ideal for invoices, club fees or donation appeals. qrvibes.com checks the IBAN as you type.

Can I create many codes at once?

Yes, with bulk QR you can create up to 500 codes in one go. Paste a list (one code per line) or upload a CSV file: first column the content, optional second column a name. You get a ZIP file with PNG or SVG, or a print-ready PDF sheet with 6 to 35 codes per page, optionally with the name under each code. QR codes and barcodes are both possible. Your list is processed only in your browser.

Templates and RSVP forms

Which templates are there?

22 print-ready templates with a QR code, such as a Wi-Fi sign, menu table tent, business card, “Scan me” sticker, save the date, wedding invitation, birthday, christening, summer party, concert and flea market. Choose a design, enter your details and download a PDF: in sizes from A4 down to business card and sticker, as a square or story for social media, or as an A4 sheet with several copies to cut out. Free and without registration.

How does the RSVP form work?

For invitations such as a wedding, birthday or Christmas party, the QR code can lead to an RSVP form. Your guests scan the code, accept or decline, enter the number of people and choose their meal if you like. You see all replies with acceptances, number of people and declines under “My codes”. You need a free account to create the form; your guests do not.

Can I customise the form and export the replies?

You set the reply deadline, meal options (for example meat, fish, vegetarian) and the maximum number of people per reply. You can download the replies as a CSV file, for example for the seating plan. You can close and reopen the form at any time and delete individual replies.

How long are the replies stored?

At most until 12 months after the event; then the form and all replies are deleted automatically. You can also delete them yourself earlier; printed codes then show a notice.

Scanning

How do I scan a code?

Tap “Start camera” and hold the code inside the frame; the scan starts automatically. Light, zoom, full screen and switching cameras help with difficult codes. Without a camera, drag an image onto the page, choose a file or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V.

Are my camera images uploaded?

No. The camera image and any images you choose are analysed only in your browser and never sent to us or anyone else. Your last ten scans are kept as a history on your device only; “Clear” deletes it.

The camera does not start. What can I do?

Allow camera access in your browser settings and reload the page. The camera only works over a secure connection (https). If it still does not work, take a photo of the code and upload it.

Is a scanned link safe?

Before you open a link, qrvibes.com shows the destination domain and warns about typical red flags: an unencrypted connection (http), a bare IP address, unusual characters that could imitate a well-known site, or an “@” that hides the real destination. This check is a help, not a guarantee. Check the domain yourself before entering any data.

Account and privacy

What can I save under “My codes”?

Your codes with content, design and logo, so you can edit or download them again later, as well as templates and RSVP forms. Each account can hold up to 500 codes, of which up to 100 dynamic, and up to 50 RSVP forms.

What data does qrvibes.com store?

As little as possible. Scanning and creating run entirely in your browser; content only reaches our server when you actively save a code. For an account we store your name, email address and your password as a secure hash, never in plain text. We do not sell data. Details are in our privacy policy.

Are there ads or tracking?

No. We only use technically necessary cookies for sign-in, language and form security, and no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner. Fonts and scripts are not loaded from third-party servers.

How do I delete my account or download my data?

Under “My codes” in the “Your data” section: “Download my data” gives you all account data and codes as a JSON file, “Delete account” removes your profile and all codes immediately and permanently. Dynamic codes and RSVP forms stop working afterwards. Forgot your password? Use “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page to get a link that is valid for one hour.
